Xavi Hernández wanted to move on at least four Barcelona players before he was fired.
ESPN reports the players are Robert Lewandowski, João Félix, João Cancelo and Vitor Roque.
Xavi took charge of his final match on Sunday, a 2-1 win over Sevilla as the Catalan side finished the season second in LaLiga and trophyless.
However, prior to his exit, Xavi had big plans to overhaul the squad this summer, especially in attack.
The former midfielder wanted to freshen things up by getting rid of Lewandowski, loanees Félix and Cancelo and January signing Roque.
It remains to be seen if the next manager, expected to be Hansi Flick, will retain any of these players.
