A manager with 341 career wins has now been offered to Chelsea following the shock departure of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine left Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening by mutual consent, despite an encouraging end to the 2023/24 campaign which saw Chelsea win all of their last five Premier League outings.
Now, Todd Boehly is on the hunt for yet another manager at Stamford Bridge, after also sacking Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter since taking over from Roman Abramovich.
A host of names have been linked with the vacancy - including Vincent Kompany - although Chelsea have now been offered the chance to hire somebody with a fine CV...
Chelsea offered Sergio Conceicao
A story by the Mirror now claims that Chelsea have been offered Sergio Conceicao.
The FC Porto boss is a client of Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese super agent - who is said to have formed a strong relationship with Boehly since the American's arrival in west London.
Interestingly, the Mirror explain that this relationship began when shock talks were held in 2022 about Cristiano Ronaldo potentially joining Chelsea.
Mendes now wants to bring Conceicao to Stamford Bridge and is pushing the 49-year-old in Boehly's direction.
Despite the Portuguese tactician already having a job at FC Porto - and recently signing a contract extension until 2028 - the Mirror state that this agreement was made under Pinto da Costa, who has since stepped down as President.
Therefore, Conceicao is free to leave the Primeira Liga outfit at zero cost to Chelsea - if Boehly does decide to take Mendes up on his offer.
Superb CV
As aforesaid, Conceicao boasts a very strong CV.
The Coimbra-born tactician has won 341 of his 552 games in football management, lifting a total of ten trophies.
You can see Conceicao's impressive haul of trophies below:
It would certainly be a bold move by Chelsea - given Conceicao's lack of experience in England - although he proved himself capable of upsetting the Premier League's finest when coming close to knocking Arsenal out of the UEFA Champions League back in March, an evening where he also came to blows with Mikel Arteta.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen with Boehly at the helm...
