Oleksandr Usyk has been handed a short suspension following his brutal win over Tyson Fury
Usyk almost dropped Fury in the ninth round of their undisputed fight but the referee jumped in to offer a count with only the ropes holding up the Brit.
Fury recovered to hear the final bell but suffered his first career defeat by split-decision in Saudi Arabia.
Usyk was later taken to hospital for a check-up but was given the all-clear, despite Fury claiming he had broken his rival's jaw.
But according to industry website BoxRec, Usyk has been suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control until June 2, presumably as a result of his injuries. There is no such suspension noted on Fury's record.
Usyk's suspension will have no impact on his career with the Ukrainian ready for a break after a nine-month training camp.
