Wike Reacts To Fight With Fubara, Reveals What He Will Do

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, affirms that he remains undistracted amidst the ongoing turmoil in Rivers State, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to his ministerial duties.

Wike stated this stance during a final inspection tour of projects slated for inauguration in the nation's capital on Friday.

The former Governor of Rivers State acknowledged the longstanding discord with his successor, Governor Siminalyi Fubara, which escalated in October 2023 when impeachment proceedings were initiated against Fubara by some state lawmakers.

Addressing attendees at a civic reception in Ogu-Bolo, Rivers State, last Saturday, Wike candidly admitted to past errors without specifying their nature, asserting, "I want to say this clearly, in life, we have made a mistake. I have made a mistake. I own it up, and I say God forgive me. I have said all of you forgive me. But we will correct it at the appropriate time."

However, during discussions with journalists amid the inspection tour in Abuja, Wike reaffirmed his focus on delivering results, citing the completion of several projects earmarked for inauguration.

"I am not distracted. If I'm distracted, you won't see this performance here. I focus on my work. I am the Minister of the FCT, and the works are going on. So, why would I be distracted? I don't even think about it all," he asserted.
