Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has taken a swipe at his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, during a solidarity visit from the Ijaw Youth Council on Thursday to mark the 56th anniversary of Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro Day.
Fubara thanked the Ijaw Youth Council for vowing to aid him. However, he said that there was no need to seek their assistance because his government had successfully overcome their issues. He then took aim at his predecessors, Nyesom Wike, stating that he and his supporters intended to disrupt his one-year anniversary festivities, but they are now sleeping with two eyes open, restless.
He said and I quote:
"I am happy you are telling me this morning that when I call on you, you will respond. But there is nothing to call on you because we have defeated them. By the special grace of God, what they thought they would have done to us while we are celebrating our one year in office, they are now sleeping with their two eyes open, restless. It shows that we have the Ijaw blood, and what is that blood? The blood of action."
