Manchester United player ready to say goodbye at Old Trafford alongside Varane, even has printed farewell T-shirt

Raphael Varane is not the only Manchester United player preparing to say goodbye at Old Trafford at the final home game of the season tonight.

Centre-back Raphael Varane has confirmed his exit. While there are three games remaining, tonight's match at home to Newcastle is the final home fixture of 2023/24.

Anthony Martial's contract will also expire. He will also wave farewell. But a surprise name is preparing to do the same, it is claimed.

The Sun report Aaron Wan-Bissaka is preparing for the eventuality for this to be his final home fixture at Manchester United.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka could leave this summer

The report claims Aaron Wan-Bissaka has even printed a T-shirt with pictures celebrating last season's Carabao Cup win, which he will wear as he prepares to say goodbye to supporters.

We will soon discover if the details of this claim prove correct. Wan-Bissaka may simply be hedging his bets.

The right-back's contract expires in June 2024. It was due to run out this summer, but Manchester United triggered a one-year extension.

No long term deal has yet been offered, and amid the sweeping changes under Ineos, Wan-Bissaka may see the writing on the wall.

If this does prove to be his final home game, then at least he is prepared for it, rather than looking back at the end of the summer when he is sold, and feeling like he failed to fully appreciate stepping out at the Theatre Of Dreams as a home player one last time.

Wan-Bissaka is a saleable asset

Manchester United signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019 from Crystal Palace for a fee of £50 million.

With just one year left on his contract, United won't get anywhere near that figure, but they also won't want to lose him for free next summer.

Right-back has been a steady if unspectacular position for United, and if Wan-Bissaka is sold, a replacement will be required.

If he stays another 12 months, United don't have to make a move. But with the club needing funds amid a limited transfer budget, it is better to sell now, rather than lose him for free next year.

Wan-Bissaka is a proven Premier League performer who will have a market. The report suggests United could have to settle for £20 million.
