Fayza Lamari: Kylian Mbappe's mother reveals she threatened to stop working for the PSG star
In this revealing interview, Fayza Lamari disclosed an intriguing dimension of Kylian Mbappé's life beyond the pitch.
A portion of the French footballer's monthly earnings is directed towards 'Inspired by KM,' a charitable association with a noble objective - helping 98 children fulfill their life projects.
The initiative which launched on January 20 this year saw Mbappe bring together 49 girls and 49 boys between the ages of nine and 16, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact off the field.
She revealed that she demanded Kylian donate a significant portion of his salary, threatening to cease working for him if he didn't comply.
Lamari recalled, "I told him: 'I don't do anything below 30%! I'll retire and do what everyone else does, go on holiday to the Maldives, but I won't work for you!'"
This negotiation, however, did not come without its challenges.
Having initially proposed a 50% contribution, Fayza and Kylian eventually settled on 30% after extensive discussions.
Mbappé's mother further delved into the 'Envoyé Spécial' report, admitting her initial expectations were higher, saying, "At first, I told him it would be 50%, but we talked about it and he stayed at 30%."
Beyond the financial aspects, the interview also featured Kylian Mbappé sharing his thoughts on fame.
The France skipper expressed a longing for the simplicity of everyday life, lamenting the loss of spontaneity that comes with being a celebrity.
He was quoted to have said via AS Tikitakas, "I lost the spontaneity of the human being. I miss everyday and simple things. Domestic chores like when my father told me to go get anything. I would pay a lot of money now to do these kinds of things that mean nothing to most people."
Mbappe has enjoyed a brilliant 2023-24 season with PSG, netting 26 goals and creating seven assists in 28 appearances in Ligue 1 so far this campaign.
According to Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Mbappé has already agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, and is expected to earn less than his salary at PSG, with a big announcement set to be made after the 2023-24 Champions League final.
