Chelsea returned to action in the English Premier League today when they hosted their city-rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Stamford Bridge Stadium. Before this encounter, there wasn't a clear favorite to bag all three points since both teams were equally matched and had what it takes to secure the all-important victory.
Chelsea broke the deadlock in the 24th minute of the match as Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring with a brilliant header to make the scoreline 1-0. The Blues came across some goalscoring chances to extend their lead in the game but unfortunately, their poor finishing in front of goal left the scoreline unchanged at halftime.
Nicolas Jackson doubled Chelsea's lead in the 73rd minute of the game courtesy of another brilliant-headed goal as he made the scoreline 2-0. The Blues remained quite solid and well-composed defensively as they held on to their advantage to secure a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Tottenham at full-time.
