Only two Man Utd players congratulated Jadon Sancho for breaking Bundesliga record

Two Manchester United players were spotted congratulating Jadon Sancho for breaking a Bundesliga record.

Back in September, Sancho's career at Old Trafford was plunged into doubt after a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag.

As a result, Sancho was frozen out at United and eventually returned to his former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

On Saturday, Sancho scored during Dortmund's 4-1 defeat against RB Leipzig, meaning he has now surpassed Tony Woodcock to become the record English goalscorer in the Bundesliga.

After the match, the 24-year-old wrote on social media: "A result to reflect on... thank you for the travelling fans who came to support us today!

"A bittersweet moment also for breaking the English record goal scorer in the Bundesliga surpassing the legend Tony Woodcock!"

Reacting to Sancho's post, two current United players in the shapes of Marcus Rashford and Shea Lacey sent a message of congratulations.

Lacey wrote: "The man," as Rashford simply put two love heart emojis.

Speaking recently to Paddy Power, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson claimed it was a mistake letting Sancho leave.

He said: "Erik ten Hag letting Jadon Sancho go was a big mistake given the form of some of the Manchester United players - you can't say he wouldn't have done better than them.

"It was a decision that Ten Hag took, but they could have used Sancho for the second half of the season. He's a talented player and would have been useful for them, so I think he made a mistake with letting him go to Germany."

Sancho and Dortmund will be back in action on Wednesday night as they take on French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain in the semi-final of the Champions League.
