Arsenal icon Lukas Podolski has sent a three-word message to his former club after yesterday's 3-2 win against Tottenham in the north London derby.

The Gunners held on to a narrow win against their old enemy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz securing a huge three points in the race for the Premier League title.

Whilst the likes of David Raya and Thomas Partey were unimpressive on the day, Arsenal got the job done thanks to some individual moments of quality, with the Gunners now potentially three wins away from the league title.

And Podolski sent a message to Arsenal shortly after the full-time whistle.

With Podolski having quite a record against Tottenham as well as a connection with Arsenal, it's no real surprise that the 38-year-old attacker was quick to celebrate the win this weekend on social media.

Indeed, the magnitude of this north London derby win could be the biggest in some time for Arsenal, with the Premier League title a real possibility if City slip up just once between now and the end of the season.

And for Podolski, the Germany legend would love nothing more than to see Arsenal finally light the Premier League championship 20 years since the north London side last managed the feat.

Former players will be desperate for Arsenal to win the league

Arsenal have done well in recent years to keep connections strong with former players, and a number of names will be desperate for the Gunners to lift the Premier League this season.

It's been two decades too long since Arsenal last won the biggest prize in English football, with this campaign as close as the Gunners have come to lifting the title since last year's run.

And for the likes of Podolski, they will be eager to see Arsenal make history, especially if it comes with the added bonus of City missing out on a fourth-straight championship.
