Jose Peseiro, the former manager of the Super Eagles, is reportedly set to return to the national football team
This report comes nearly two months after he stepped down from the position.
Peseiro, who led the team to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final earlier this year, initially left due to contractual disagreements with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Despite efforts to find a replacement, including soliciting applications from both domestic and foreign coaches, no successor has been appointed yet.
Even though he has been linked to various coaching opportunities, Peseiro is yet to take up any of the opportunities.
However, there are reports that John Enoh, Nigeria's Sports Minister, has reached out to Peseiro about a potential comeback, which the Portuguese coach finds enticing, especially with the prospect of guiding Nigeria to the 2026 World Cup.
