Liverpool's Champions League winner wants Osimhen to replace Salah

Victor Osimhen has been tipped to replace Mohamed Salah, who is likely to leave Liverpool this summer.

Former Liverpool star Steve Nicol has urged Liverpool to go all out for Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen should Mohamed Salah leave the club this summer.

Salah's Liverpool future in doubt

Salah's future at Anfield is a subject of speculation, with the Egyptian star tipped to leave the club this summer.

Although the former Basel star's contract does not expire until 2025, Salah could leave the club this summer if a big-money offer arrives for him.

The ex-Chelsea and Fiorentina man was the subject of an over £100m bid from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad last summer, but the Reds rejected the offer.

However, it is believed that the Reds would be willing to sell if a similar offer arrives for the Egyptian this summer.

Nicol tips Osimhen to replace Salah at Liverpool

With Salah's future likely to be away from Anfield, Nicol has suggested that Liverpool should go for Osimhen as his replacement.

Like Salah, Osimhen is also expected to be on the move this summer, with the Nigerian expected to leave Napoli for big money.

Osimhen has been linked with a host of clubs, including the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

However, Nicol has urged Liverpool to go all out and sign the Nigerian international ahead of their rivals.

"The fact that Salah is leaving, whether this year or next year, Osimhen? I think he would be fantastic for Liverpool. In the middle of the park, we've just signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Endo's turned out to be incredible, you need someone who will run all day and give it to Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Salah," the 62-year-old told ESPN FC.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will take Nicol's advice, but the Reds will have to pay a fee in the region of over £120m if they are to sign the ex-Lille man.
