Manchester City's resounding victory over struggling Luton Town placed them atop the Premier League for at least a day.
Erling Haaland's misdirected volley gave City the lead at Etihad Stadium in just 65 seconds as it struck Daiki Hashioka of Luton and flew into the net.
With a lovely soaring strike from close to the area's edge by Mateo Kovacic, City doubled their lead in more than an hour. Haaland's penalty, following Jeremy Doku's foul by Fred Onyedinma, effectively ended the match.
Ross Barkley scored a goal for the Hatters shortly after City made two substitutions, taking advantage of an error by Matheus Nunes. However, Doku made a great solo goal from the left side, while Gvardiol completed the hammering.

The winless streak of Manchester United in the Premier League now stands at four games after the Red Devils had to come back twice to deny Bournemouth a victory.
Both Manchester United goals were scored by Bruno Fernandes. Dominic Solanke's opening strike put the Cherries ahead before Justin Kluivert extended their lead at the interval.

Man United missed the chance to overtake Newcastle and enter 5th because they failed to beat Bournemouth in front of their fans.
However, Manchester City went to the top of the table for the first time since November.
