Idris Okuneye, a well-known transgender and social media celebrity, Bobrisky, is accused of failing to comply with the conditions of release stipulated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky was detained and arrested by the Lagos State Command of the Commission on Wednesday for squandering Naira, splattering Naira notes, and damaging currency. Punch was informed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale that Okuneye had neglected to show up for his bail hearing. The EFCC had earlier announced in a statement that Bobrisky had been arrested in Lagos State's Pinnock Estate. It further stated that Bobrisky would be charged with something shortly. Oyewale claims that Bobrsky is present. He was brought into prison in Lagos last night and is now under our command in Lagos. "We detained him on suspicion of misusing Naira notes, splattering Naira notes, and destroying cash, among other offenses. "We sincerely hope to restore the dignity of the Naira. Although we are currently looking into it, he will soon be charged in court.
The EFCC had invited the 31-year-old following a video report of spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the movie premiere of Ajakaju at Film One Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos, on March 24, 2024," the EFCC added in a statement posted on social media. Nollywood actress and producer Eniola Ajao produced the film. The investigation further revealed that he had committed the alleged offense at numerous other parties and event locations at different times. He agreed to testify, accepted the Commission's invitation, and appeared for interrogation early on Wednesday, April 4, 2024, at the EFCC's Lagos Zonal Command. He will shortly be charged in court following the conclusion of the investigations.
