Manchester City could escape the threat of relegation, as the Premier League is planning radical changes to Financial Fair Play, FFP, rules.
City currently has 115 charges hanging over it.
And the English champions such as Everton and Nottingham Forest have been stung with points deductions this season.
It has led to talk that the severity of City's breaches could result in them being demoted from the top flight.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Premier League is ready to revise the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) that are currently in place.
That could work in City's favour while big-spending Chelsea will be keeping a close eye on developments alongside the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa.
