Meet The Only Player That Has Scored More Headed Goals Than Arsenal's Gabriel So Far This Season

Gabriel Magalhães of Arsenal has scored 4 headed goals in the English Premier League (EPL) so far this season. Interestingly, there is one player that has registered more headers than this centre-back within the period as per Transfermarkt. Who is this "head master" and how did he do it?

This headed goal specialist is Christopher Grant Wood (aka Chris Wood). Five of the 10 EPL goals scored by the Nottingham Forest striker this season are with his head. The New Zealand international got his first header of the Period when the Tricky Trees hosted Sheffield United last August. Interestingly, it was also his first strike of 2023/24.

Wood got his second header of the season two months later. This was 76 minutes into the clash with Luton, another newly promoted side. The 32-year-old forward got his last two nodded EPL strikes in 2024. He had one when Nottingham Forest visited Brentford on January 29. In this case, Wood gave his side an equaliser 5 minutes after the hour. However, Neal Maupay struck for the Bees to secure a win for the hosts. The 2-time New Zealand footballer of the year had his latest header in the match day 30 encounter with Crystal Palace. This time, he was able to rescue a point for Nuno Espírito Santo boys.

As for Gabriel, all his four goals so far this season are headers. The Brazilian registered one against Liverpool last December. He followed it with a brace of nodded goals against Crystal Palace the following month. The defender would net another one against West Ham in February. All these were obtained in the first half.
