Following the murder of seventeen soldiers in the Okuama community, Delta State, the army issued a wanted list that included the monarch of Ewu Kingdom, Clement Ikolo.
Ikolo has responded to the inclusion of his name on the list. In a video that TVC recently uploaded to YouTube, King Ikolo expressed his astonishment at being named on such a list. As a devout Catholic, he further stated that it goes against his faith to be involved in the deaths of the soldiers. He also begged the government to find and punish the true criminals.
The fact that my name, as a monarch, is on a list of wanted persons surprises me, says King Ikolo. Neither have I ever condoned or participated in the killing of another human being. As a Catholic and a human, it goes against all I believe in. I believe they should investigate thoroughly to find out who is responsible for this heinous crime against humanity, put them in prison, and ensure that justice is served. This does not involve me in any way.
