Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has vowed to bring to justice those responsible for the death of 16 military officers in Delta State.
Speaking during the funeral on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, CDS assured that the perpetrators would be hunted down and brought to justice.
He also warned persons supporting the killers directly or indirectly that they will be made to face wrath of the law when caught.
"We together working hand in hand to make Nigeria better and indeed the entire nation. To the perpetrators of these violence who seek to sow violence and division among our people, take this from me, our resolve will not wither. We will hunt you down, we will bring you to justice and we will restore peace and security to every nuke and cranny of our dear nation. Your evil actions may cause pain and suffering but they will never extinguish the spirit of unity and resilience that burns within us. Whoever is supporting them whether directly or indirectly, in every way be rest assured, we will get them, we will smoke them out wherever they are and those who are offering them any support will face the music. That we guarantee," he said.
Recall that on March 1, 2024 17 military personnel were killed in the Okuama community of Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
As a result, the military has declared eight persons wanted in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers.
They are Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, Prof Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriki, Igoli Ebi (female), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe and Reuben Baru.
