Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state, has condemned the quality of food being served to residents of the state by the handlers of the Ramadan Feeding program.
The state governor budgeted N6 billion for food to be provided to indigent residents of the state in the 44 local government areas during the Ramadan fasting period.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the governor could be seen expressing his disappointment at the poor meals being served to residents. Some of the meals looked small while some people were served rice without any kind of protein.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor expressed his dismay during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.
The governor said;
"We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources."
His impromptu inspection was prompted by intelligence reports suggesting deficiencies in the management of the feeding program at various centres across the metropolis.
