Who was Griselda Blanco?

"The only person I was ever afraid of was a woman - Griselda Blanco," Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar once said. He was called the king of cocaine. She is the cocaine godmother. They both came from Medellín, a city considered the capital of the drug mafia.

When Escobar was still in the criminal underworld and was mainly involved in car theft, Griselda had tons of white powder smuggled into the United States. It is said that Escobar learned from her and certainly copied several of Blanco's methods.

She hid from law enforcement for a long time. Even when she was brought to trial, the punishment was outrageously low.

Griselda reportedly committed her first murder at the age of 11. Together with other kids, she kidnapped a boy from a rich family.

The story of Griselda Blanco has been interesting to filmmakers for years. Now the fate of the cocaine godmother is told in a six-episode Netflix series.
