A resident, Ibrahim Shuaibu, who reportedly confirmed the latest incident on Monday, said the gunmen launched the attack at about 2am on Monday.
Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen terrorising villages in Nasarawa State have attacked and killed two police officers, the village head of Katakpa in Toto Local Government Area of the State, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu, and 11 civilians.
It was gathered that the gunmen had invaded same Katakpa on January 1, killed eight people and set houses, including the palace of the village head, as well as vehicles, on fire.
Torizone reports that following the January 1 attack, three among the soldiers reportedly deployed to the community on January 8, alongside two vigilantes, were killed in an ambush.

Shuaibu said that the gunmen set some houses ablaze and that while the occupants were trying to escape, they opened fire on them, adding that the gunmen earlier attacked the police outpost in the community and killed two policemen before proceeding to attack the villagers.
Also, the Chairman of Toto Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, who confirmed the attack and the killings was quoted as saying, "I am yet to get details of civilians killed in the attack as I am at a function right now with the Deputy Governor in Umaisha."
However, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, has yet to confirm the attack nor issuean official statement on the incident.
