There have been calls that Mauricio Pochettino should start Christopher Nkunku in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday against Liverpool. Meanwhile, the Argentine shouldn't make the mistake of starting the French attacker for some reason.
Nkunku had an impressive performance in the 4-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in their recent meetings but that doesn't mean he would perform well in the final against the Merseyside Red. Nkunku hasn't played a lot of games for Chelsea this season. The former Leipzig star hasn't settled well at the club due to injuries.
Chelsea needs a lineup that consists of players who have been playing together for a while and are consistent to beat Liverpool on Sunday. The final would possibly be Jurgen Klopp's last cup final for Liverpool and he will want to win it at all cost.
However, Pochettino shouldn't make the mistake of starting Nkunku in that game because the French forward doesn't have some qualities that Jackson and Sterling have. If Nkunku starts in the final, one of Jackson and Sterling has to be dropped and Chelsea needs both of them to start that game because they have chemistry and were brilliant against Manchester City.
Nkunku doesn't like defending and this affected Chelsea after he came on against Manchester City as he would have prevented Rodri's goal if he tracked back. This shows why Pochettino should go with the Sterling, Jackson, and Palmer front three against Liverpool as Nkunku is yet to adapt to Pochettino's style defensively.
