Davido Announces N300m Donation To Orphanages

Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has announced a donation of N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria through his Foundation.
On Tuesday via his X account, the Grammy-nominated artist made known the donation.Davido stated that the donation is his yearly contribution to the nation.He added that the details on the disbursement will be available on Wednesday.
"I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria ... as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬," he tweeted.

Hardship: Perform Your Lagos Miracles, Buhari's Minister Taunts Tinubu

Solomon Dalung, Minister of Youths and Sports Development in the first term of President Bola Tinubu, has told President Bola Tinubu to perform what he described as his "Lagos miracles".
Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
During his campaign for the highest office in the land, Tinubu emphasised that he built Lagos to a model for good governance, infrastructure renewal and innovation and asked that he should be given the chance to replicate such in Nigeria.
However, policies introduced by the president have not addressed the needs of Nigerians, but plunged the country into further hardship in some instances.
9 Feared Dead, 7 Injured In Lagos-Abeokuta Road Accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says nine persons died on Tuesday in an accident at the Kere bridge on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.
Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Florence Okpe, FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, said seven other passengers sustained injuries during the crash that happened at about 8 a.m.
Okpe said the incident occurred when a truck without a registration number collided with a Mazda bus marked SMK 808 YD.
ASUU Loses 46 Members

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abuja zone, said owing to the current economic hardship in the country, alongside poor remuneration of academicians, universities in the zone have lost 46 members.
The Abuja Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, Salihu Muhammed Lawal, who disclosed this while briefing journalists on Monday in Abuja, said the union lost several members due to herculean working conditions, psychological and emotional stress and diseases related to poor working conditions.
Lawal said, "In fact, just two days back the union lost an eminent Professor of Fisheries, Johnson Oyero, of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, due to inability to afford quality medical care."
