Meet The Powerful Man Who Changed Sabbath From Saturday To Sunday

Sabbath is a day devoted to rest and worship by God. Israelites were ordered in the Ten Commandments to make the Seventh day (Saturday) holy. Early Jewish rested on Saturday with the Sabbath beginning on Friday evening until Saturday evening. Some Christians worship on Sunday because it is the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead and on which Holy Spirit appeared to the Disciples of Jesus.

Who was that man?

Constantine the Great was born in 272 AD in Serbia. He became Emperor after the death of his father who was holding the drone. That man lived most of his life as a pagan but began to favor Christianity and crushed other religions. He later attended the Catholic and Orthodox Church and Sun worshipping spread like wildfire. He ended the persecution of Christians and supported the establishment of places of worship across the empire.

Why did he change Sabbath?

Constantine ordered the celebration of the Eucharist in a corporate day of worship on the first day (Sunday). That order does not ascribe to any restriction of strict Mosaic law. He argued that every day is a Sabbath day and that stringent laws were only associated with Moses and the Israelites just like male circumcision before Abraham and animal sacrifices. He explained to Romans that the first generations on earth beginning from Adam, Abel, Enoch, and Lot had no Sabbath but we were pleasing God.

His death and burial

He felt seriously ill and decided to visit the river Jordan to be baptized because he knew his days on earth were short. He died on his way back home and was buried in the church compound
