The wait is over! The producers of the long-awaited sequel to the 2001 action movie "Issakaba" have finally revealed the star-studded cast. This exciting follow-up to the classic film will once again feature the beloved actor Sam Dede as the heroic Ebube.
Joining him are other popular personalities like Chidi Mokeme, Big Brother Naija star Phyna, and an ensemble including Sanni Danger, Nosa Rex, Yekini "Itele" Ibrahim, Regina Daniel, Iyabo Ojo, Mike Ogundu, Alex Osifo, Francis Onwochei, Charles Okafor, Chiwetalu Agu, Ben Olaye, Chudi Kashimawo, and Mark Angel.
With such a talented cast and the legacy of the original film to build upon, the "Issakaba" sequel promises to be an action-packed spectacle that will entertain audiences both old and new.
For those unfamiliar with the original film, "Issakaba" tells the story of a vigilante group called the Bakassi Boys, who take it upon themselves to fight crime and restore peace in their community. Led by Ebube, these brave individuals faced off against dangerous armed robbers, even overcoming mystical challenges thrown their way.
After a 23-year hiatus, this legendary Nigerian action film is making a triumphant return thanks to the dedication of its creators and cast. The announcement, made earlier this year by Sam Dede himself, sparked excitement among fans eager to relive the thrilling adventures of the Issakaba Boys.
Sam Dede further fueled the anticipation by calling the sequel "the return of an old, long myth," hinting at a story that both honours the past and offers fresh experiences.
Returning as director is Lancelot Imasuen, who helmed the original production back in 2001.
