There were lots of star performers in the English Premier League Matchday 23. These players brought their best performance into play to orchestrate the wins secured by their respective teams in the competition.
In this article, I will be sharing my Premier League team of the week lineup consisting of the best players on matchday 23 of the competition. Let's take a look.
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana (Man Utd).
We don't get to see this quite often, but Andre Onana had one of his best performances for Manchester United in the competition last week against West Ham United. The Cameroonian International kept a well-deserved clean sheet after making four solid saves to prevent West Ham United United from conceding.
Centre-Backs: Lewis Dunk (Brighton) and Ruben Dias (Man City), Harry Maguire (Man Utd).
Apart from contributing to Brighton's victory by scoring a goal, Lewis Dunk also shielded the team's defensive area by making some important wins of the ball against Crystal Palace. Ruben Dias made himself that solid presence in Manchester City's defense line as he neutralized several of Brentford's attacking plays in the match. Harry Maguire on the other hand had an impressive performance on his return from injury, putting in a good defensive shift against West Ham United.
Midfielders: Rodri (Man City), Ross Barkley (Luton Town) and Pascal Gross (Brighton).
Rodri played his role in the defensive midfield position brilliantly as he effortlessly controlled Manchester City's attacking plays from the middle of the park. Ross Barkley had one of his best performances for Luton Town so far scoring a goal and providing an assist against Newcastle United. Pascal Gross on the other hand spearheaded Brighton's win over Crystal Palace as he provided two lovely assists in the game.
Forwards: Phil Foden (Man City), Matheus Cunha (Wolves), Ollie Wakins (Aston Villa) and Alejandro Garnacho
Phil Foden and Matheus Cunha both scored hat-tricks to mastermind their respective team's victories in the competition last week. Alejandro Garnacho was also in fine form as he scored two brilliant goals, helping Manchester United grab an important win over West Ham United. Ollie Wakins on the other hand scored a goal and provided two assists to aid Aston Villa's emphatic win over Sheffield United.
