David de Gea has snubbed the chance to return to the Premier League comeback with Nottingham Forest, according to The Athletic.
The Spanish goalkeeper only left Manchester United seven months ago.
But with Forest seemingly losing faith in goalkeepers, Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos, they were in the market for a new stopper in January.
They tried to lure De Gea who is still a free agent to the City Ground.
It is believed that intermediaries pitched a proposed short-term deal to De Gea's camp.
This was seen as a way for the Spaniard to put himself in the 'shop window', to secure a bigger move in the summer.
He was reportedly not interested, as a result, Forest signed Matz Sels instead.
