AFCON 2023: EPL congratulates four Super Eagles stars as Nigeria qualify for the next round

In a statement released on social media, the English Premier League has offered hearty congratulations to the Super Eagles players who play in the EPL for their impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. After defeating Angola 1-0 in the quarter-finals, the four EPL stars - Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka and Calvin Bassey - have helped propel Nigeria to the semi-finals of the tournament.

According to report, EPL said this in a tweet via its official X account after the Nigeria vs Angola match: "Nigeria are into the AFCON semi-finals. Congratulations to Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi." EPL tweeted.

The statement expressed delight at the players' success and commended them for representing their country with pride and skill. It also wished them continued success in the upcoming semi-final and beyond.

Onyeka currently plays his club football at Premier club, Brentford, while Aina represents Nottingham Forest. Iwobi and Bassey play for Fulham.
