Wike visits Abuja community over incessant kidnappings, killings

FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, is currently holding a town-hall meeting in Bwari, one of the area councils terribly affected by the recent wave of killings and kidnappings in Abuja.

Present at the meeting is a former senator who represented FCT, Philip Aduda, the Bwari Council of Chiefs, security agencies, and officials of the area council.

Speaking at the event, Wike said he visited Bwari following the instruction of President Bola Tinubu.

Wike disclosed that Tinubu has also ordered him to provide vehicles and other security gadgets to all security operatives in the FCT to combat the bandits.

Wike vowed to make Abuja a hotbed for bandits and terrorists alike.

He revealed that government is doing everything possible to rescue those abducted by the bandits.

"We are taking every step to make sure that those challenges are resolved; so this meeting is practically to look into such challenges and see how we can resolve them," Wike said.

"That is why we invited all the council chairmen because they also have responsibility in their various area councils. We have to put hands together to come up with solutions," he added.
