Manchester United have reportedly identified Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as one of the first transfer targets of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era this summer. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is being lined up for a Selhurst Park return as part of a swap deal for the 22-year-old star.
He is entering the final 12 months of his United contract, making the summer the final opportunity for the club to recoup some of the £50million paid for his signature in 2019. But using Wan-Bissaka as part of a deal for Olise, who has become one of the Premier League's most exciting wingers, would be another valid approach.
Reports claim the 26-year-old's availability could help United beat rival suitors Chelsea and Liverpool to Olise. It remains to be seen whether Wan-Bissaka would be keen to return to Palace, though.
Simply put, if this report is indeed true, this showcases a lot about Xavi as a character. Irrespective of his tactical input or sporting shortcomings, he is a Barcelona man through and through. Raised and developed through the youth academy, he was among the pioneers of the club's golden generation.

However, the coach continues to have faith in himself and his players. He realizes that he has at least led the club to a better progression than it had when he originally took over. On the other hand, the recent defeat to Real Madrid truly has taken its toll.
For now, according to AS at least, Barcelona simply waits for the Champions League tie. At the moment, no abrupt decision is expected to be taken. However, if Barça do end up faltering against Napoli, a lot of changes could potentially be accelerated.
And if not, Erik ten Hag has different players he could table to convince the Eagles to sell. Looking at the three other options United have to offer Palace to lure Olise to Old Trafford later this year.
Victor Lindelof
Like Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof will enter the final year of his United contract in the summer after the club triggered a 12-month extension clause. Palace may be tempted to freshen up their central-defensive options with Lindelof, an experienced Premier League and European player.
Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is also entering the final third of the three-year contract he signed at United in 2022. However, given he turns 32 next month, Eriksen would unlikely knock off much of Olise's transfer fee.
Facundo Pellistri
United could be tempted to put their feelings out for interest in Antony this summer after a disappointing first two seasons since his £86m switch from Ajax. Palace could well be interested in adding him to the ranks, but, similar to the other two stars in this list, the 22-year-old Uruguayan wouldn't knock off much of the Olise asking price.
