This affliction covers her limbs and much of her back with painful blisters, making everyday activities a constant struggle. Living in the remote tribal area of Dantewada adds another layer of difficulty in accessing essential medical care.
In another instance, five-month-old Lexi Robins from the United Kingdom is grappling with a unique genetic disorder gradually turning her muscles into bones. Born seemingly normal on January 31st, Lexi's early signs included the inability to move her thumb and enlarged toes. It took time to diagnose her perilous condition, revealing abnormal bone growth beyond the skeleton, rendering movement exceptionally challenging.
This disorder replaces muscles and connective tissues, essentially transforming the body into stone. Unfortunately, there's no known cure, and those affected may become immobile by the age of 20, with a life expectancy of around 40 years.
