In the aftermath of the Supreme Court's validation of Caleb Mutfwang as the duly elected governor of Plateau State, Mutfwang publicly extended his commendation to President Bola Tinubu for choosing not to wield his influence in manipulating the legal proceedings. The legal contestation had originated from the All-Progressives Congress (APC), whose candidate, discontent with the electoral outcome, steadfastly refused to accept defeat and waged an intense legal battle to unseat Mutfwang.
Despite the contentious nature of the dispute and the APC's determined efforts to challenge the legitimacy of Mutfwang's victory, Tinubu opted to refrain from interference in the judicial process. Mutfwang acknowledged and praised this restraint exhibited by Tinubu, highlighting the significance of political figures not leveraging their powers to unduly sway legal outcomes. The APC candidate's refusal to concede loss and the subsequent legal battle had created a tense political climate, making the Supreme Court's final affirmation of Mutfwang's electoral triumph a crucial moment in Plateau State's political landscape.
In the last few hours so many political leaders have taken to different news channel to appreciate the effort of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for playing a neutral card in supreme Court final judgement over issues surrounding governorship election in some States. Many sees the president's noninterference as a positive outcome.
