Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Friday said the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed his electoral victory is proof that Nigeria can get it right.
A five-member panel led by Justice Emmanuel Agim reversed the decision of the appellate court which sacked him. He tagged the verdict perverse because the issue of the primary election that produced Mutfwang was outside the jurisdiction of the lower court.
Channels TV report that, the Governor said the judiciary will get it right once the apex court gets it right.
"I feel more optimistic now that we may alter the Nigerian system," the person said. He remarked, "I have always been an unrelenting optimist that Nigeria can transform".
"What I witnessed in the Supreme Court gives me even more optimism that, should the Court make the right decisions, the legal system would follow suit and the administration of justice will be executed properly".
This implies that we can cascade this into other areas of the development of our country. Given all that is going on right now, I think that change is achievable given some of the corrective actions the President is taking.
