Ned Nwoko, a member of the People's Democratic Party and senator from Delta State, has advised Nigerians on what they need to do to defend themselves from armed robbers in their homes, while also advising the Federal Government on what they need to do to stop bandits from attacking ordinary citizens. In a video that was posted by Arise News, he made it known that if citizens have guns and armed robbers ask them to open the door, all they need to do is shoot in the air, and they will run away because they will be scared.
In his statement, he said, "We are in a crisis situation in Nigeria, and these crises require drastic measures, so I just feel like the best way is to make sure that people are given the opportunity to protect themselves and their families. Just imagine armed robbers knocking on somebody's door and asking them to open the door. They would be compelled to open the door, and they could kill their families and molest their wives or daughters. If you have a gun and armed robbers ask you to open the door, shoot into the air, they will run."
