Wisdom Ikuli accuses FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of ongoing crisis in Rivers State despite President Tinubu's intervention.

In a recent interview with a national newspaper, Wisdom Ikuli, the National President of the Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators Forum (NDNAF), has accused the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, of exacerbating the crisis in Rivers State, despite the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

Ikuli asserted that Wike's actions have sent a strong message to Nigerians and the international community, suggesting that the minister does not acknowledge the authority or control of President Tinubu.

"In an ideal situation, where there is respect for hierarchy and constituted authorities, Wike would have let go because of Mr President's earlier intervention," Ikuli stated, emphasising the need for adherence to established authority.

Describing Wike as a non-conformist, Ikuli accused the former governor of holding Rivers State and its current governor, Sim Fubara, hostage through his decisions.

According to Ikuli, Wike is determined to govern two states simultaneously, asserting control over both the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State.

The NDNAF President highlighted key issues at the heart of the conflict, primarily centered around Wike's quest for total control.

Ikuli revealed that Wike unilaterally appointed key figures within the Fubara administration, including commissioners, the Chief of Staff, the Chief Security Officer, the Chief Judge, and other principal officers.

"That was the reason he singlehandedly appointed 15 out of the 16 commissioners in the Fubara administration. It is on record that he was the one that appointed the Chief of Staff, Government House. He appointed the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the governor."

"Wike asked Governor Fubara not to approve any fund above N50 million without his express approval," Ikuli claimed, exposing the extent of Wike's influence on financial matters in the state.

Furthermore, Ikuli pointed out that Wike exercises control over state-owned private jets funded by Rivers State taxpayers. The NDNAF President alleged that the minister demands approval before the governor can use these jets.

As the accusations mount, the public awaits responses from Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Sim Fubara, while concerns grow over the lingering crisis in Rivers State despite President Tinubu's previous intervention.
