Eagles Will Fight to Win AFCON -Peseiro

Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has stated that his team will fight to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Peseiro who announced his 25-man squad for the forthcoming AFCON tournament scheduled to hold from January 13 to February 11 last Friday, admitted that the Eagles are in a tough group as they are drawn against Ivory Coast.
"The Eagles' group is not easy because hosts Ivory Coast is one of the favourites for the tournament due to their good squad and that they are playing at home," the Portuguese coach told Nigeria Football Federation TV.
"Equatorial Guinea did better than Nigeria at the last AFCON, they got to the quarter-finals and Guinea-Bissau beat us at home in the qualifiers so it's going to be a tough tournament, a tough job for us because we need to put in focus everytime, every minute and every seconds in the match."
Enyeama May Join Eagles

Former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, has dropped a cryptic message on Instagram hinting that he could join the technical crew of national team when the camp opens on Tuesday (today) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, The PUNCH reports.
Enyeama made this known on Monday when he reacted to a post about the team's AFCON preparationson the official Instagram account of the Super Eagles.
They will begin a one-week training camp on Tuesday (today) that will last until January 9.
He wrote, "Let's go, See you in camp. Time for business."
Enyeama unofficial appointment see joins the growing list of ex-goalies Alloy Agu and Ike Shorunmu who were appointed as goalkeeper trainers.
It also comes two months after the 41-year-old spoke about how he was treated by the Nigerian Football Federation which made him block every access to the team.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has described the Christmas Eve attacks on communities in the three local government areas of the state as genocide.
Mutfwang, in his New Year broadcast to the people of the state, said the attacks that led to the killing of more than 160 people were not caused by farmer-herder clashes.
The governor stated this as community leaders in the state on Monday appealed to the Federal Government to deploy more troops and military hardware to enhance security in the three troubled local government areas.
Over 160 persons were left dead and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed during the December 24 attack on 17 communities in the Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos local government areas by suspected terrorists.

The General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Prophet Richard Kolawole, has said President Bola Tinubu must be ready to touch 'the untouchables' if he would succeed in reviving Nigeria's economy.
This was as the President of the CAC, Worldwide, said the carelessness of Nigerian leaders was to blame for the insecurity ravaging the country.
The CAC leaders spoke on Sunday at the Freedom Festival 2023 Conference and Convention with the theme, "Above other gods."
The yearly event was organised by CAC, Arogungbogunmi International, Olunde in Ibadan in Oyo State.
In his prophecies for 2024, the CAC General Evangelist declared: "God said he is out to deal with the leaders or people in higher authority of this country if they turn deaf ears to the cry of the poor. God said he would visit them with untimely death and terminal diseases.
