Many big clubs across Europe have market value gains within 2023. However, a look at Transfermarkt data of these European outfits has shown that none of them got as much increase in value as Arsenal within the period. How did the Gunners do this?
Mikel Arteta (manager of Arsenal)
The Arteta boys began the year with a cumulative value of €759m. This amount has risen by €351m bringing it to a total of 1.11 billion Euros over the course of the last 12 months. The player that contributed most to this increase is captain Martin Ødegaard. The midfielder has a growth in worth of €30m within the period. The North London side are also boosted by the departure of low value players and arrival of top-value stars like Declan Rice.
Meanwhile, the most valuable man in the Gunners squad is currently Bukayo Saka who doubles as the most valuable player in the world. His worth increased from €100m in January to €120m in December 2023. This is growth of €20m. William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli had growth of €25m each within this year.
Arsenal is followed by Newcastle, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Aston Villa. These clubs got their market values boosted by €191m, €189m, €183.45m and €170.9m respectively. These quartet complete the five clubs with the highest update within the year. Meanwhile, Burnley, a newly promoted EPL side are next on the list with a raise of about €162.6m. In the case of the Citizens, Julian Alvarez is the greatest contributor to market value increase. He worth rose from €50m to €90m to give a rise of €40m in the period.
