Chelsea recorded their eighth Premier League defeats of the season when Wolves defeated them by 2-1 at Molineux Stadium. Meanwhile, the Blues could have won the game if Wolves were reduced to ten men earlier in the game.
If a player of a team is sent off in a match, the opposition team will be at an advantage and have the likelihood to win the game and that could have been Chelsea's case today. Both teams engaged in a serious battle in the first half and they missed several chances which could have birth the first goal. In the second half, Mario Lemina scored the opener and in the stoppage time, Wolves doubled the lead then Christopher Nkunku scored to give Chelsea a consolation goal as Wolves survived a late scare and won the game.
However, Chelsea could have won the game if Semedo had been sent off in the 18th minute. The Wolves' right back stamped on Raheem Sterling and that kind of awful tackle should have resulted in a red card. Luckily for Semedo, after a VAR check, the incident was dismissed as he got away with it.
