In what will come across as a really startling development, a crime suspect has threatened to go after a police officer and his family after he is released.

The suspect was seen handcuffed to a police Toyota Hilux van while the police officer was standing at the back of the vehicle.

The names of the duo and the place where the incident took place could not be immediately verified by our correspondent or whether it was a skit on Thursday.

About four officers who sat at the front of the police vehicle did not intervene in the disturbing conversation between the duo as they exchanged words.
They both spoke in pidgin.

According to the suspect who had a backpack strapped on him, and wearing a black t-shirt on tattered jeans, his men would come for him while in the police custody.

"If I come out from station, I go change am for you ooo. Na Nigeria we dey, I go serve one year, I go come back, I know wetin I go do you and you family. No worry, my men go come for me, them go release me, you go see am," the suspect said.

In his response, the police officer said "As you dey run, naso police go dey follow you. You no go come back, if you do know say I no be police officer, I go dey check you every morning."

However, netizens have called on the police authorities to speak on the incident calling it a very worrying development.

Samuel Ikanni said "I keep thinking this is a movie. NPF must do everything to clear this doubt.

Mustapha Ibrahim asked, "What an audacity"; while Marius Edu said please "Tell me this is skit and not real."

According to Ahmed Laotan Suleiman, "When the law is soft on crime suspects, this is what you get.

"If they are locked up with hard labour in a reserved farm to till the soil, he won't wish his enemy to go into crime."

For Temitope Sheriff Adeosun, "My wish is for a prison system that will be productive for prisoners and our state. All prisoners, no matter how big, will work and get paid. They will work in the farm and factories created specifically for them. They will make money for our state," he said.
