Fresh from winning the African Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen proved why he's indeed Africa's best after scoring a fantastic goal and providing a Puskas-worthy assist in Napoli's match against Cagliari.

Osimhen inspired the Serie A champions SSC Napoli back to winning ways, heading one into the net and assisting the second to help Napoli to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cagliari at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.

Victor Osimhen was heads above everyone else against Cagliari.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring in the 69th minute, but the lead only lasted three minutes before Cagliari equalized.

Consequently, three minutes later, the Nigerian Super Eagle was at it again as he turned provider this time, setting up partner Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with a Puskas-worthy assist for the decisive winner.

Osimhen's fantastic headed goal was his seventh of the season in the Serie A and saw Napoli end a run of three consecutive defeats across all competitions.

Also, the assist is his second of the season and has been making headlines worldwide, with many football fans calling it the 'assist of the decade'. It was the highlight individual performance of all matches played in the European top-five leagues on Saturday.

However, what is more astonishing is that Osimhen had already practiced the same method of play with his friends, while on a visit in Lagos, Nigeria.

Despite narrowly missing the ball hitting the net, his technique in that friendly match was highly talked about by fans and went viral on all Nigerian social media platforms.

With him recreating the same technique in Napoli, it proves the saying that "practice makes perfect", making Nigerians so proud of their star player.

Osimhen is one of the best players in the world, brimming with so much confidence after winning the African Player of the Year. He'll be looking forward to having more iconic performances for Nigeria at the January AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast.
