The family of the comic actor, John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, has addressed misconceptions surrounding Mr. Ibu's health, stating that contrary to circulating reports on social media, the actor has undergone amputation on only one leg, not both.

They added that the initial amputation proved insufficient to resolve his health challenges, leading to a subsequent amputation on the same leg.

The family also refuted claims attributing Mr. Ibu's illness to diabetes disclosing that the actor has been contending with clotting of the blood in his leg, attributed to diseased blood vessels.

President Bola Tinubu yesterday celebrated his friend and ally, former president Muhammadu Buhari, on his 81st birthday, describing him as an icon of truth, justice and patriotism.

Tinubu in a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, extolled the leadership credentials and feats of the former president, recalling his meritorious service to the nation at various times as military Head of State and as civilian president.

President Tinubu fondly recalled the former president's aggressive push to modernise Nigeria's defence architecture while working towards import substitution with the empowerment of millions of Nigerian farmers in his progressive initiative to enhance food security in the country.

No fewer than 17 persons on Saturday narrowly escaped death in a motor accident that occurred at Kilometre 14, Magboro on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Sunday Special gathered that the white 18-seater Toyota bus with the registration number GME809XB was conveying passengers from Ekiti State inward Lagos State when the accident happened around 11.50 am.

The vehicle which somersaulted and hit its back on the ground was majorly boarded by students of Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Security operatives from the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers on the command's wanted list.

The command's Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Isah, disclosed this in Dutse in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, the duo was trailed and subsequently arrested on December 12, 2023, at about 13:30 hours, in Kano.
