Arsenal legend Paul Merson has revealed his fears over Ivan Toney's potential January move to Chelsea as the Blues search for a solution to their goal scoring woes.
Toney, who currently plays for Brentford, has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Arsenal.
However, Merson is unsure whether the England star will adapt well to life at Stamford Bridge.
"It is a lot of money. I do think he is a really good player, but he has not been at a top club yet and we are seeing that with David Raya and Moises Caicedo at the moment," Merson said in his column for Sky Sports.
"It's so different playing for Brentford, no disrespect, to playing for Arsenal or Chelsea. There is so much scrutiny playing for the top clubs.
"Let's take the weekend. Brentford lost to Sheffield United. What page was that report on? You hardly heard about it. However, Chelsea lost to Everton, and it is headline after headline."
Meanwhile, Chelsea fell to their third Premier League defeat in four games when they were beaten 2-0 against Everton last weekend.
The result sees the Blues slump down to 12th position on the Premier League table.
