The Super Eagles hosted Lesotho for their opening game of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The first half saw the Super Eagles have their chances to score. Kelechi Iheanacho had a wonderful free kick being saved by the Lesotho goalkeeper.
However, the highlight of the first half was when Kelechi Iheanacho missed an open goal against Lesotho, as he missed the opportunity to put the Super Eagles in front. Both teams entered into the first half break 1-1.
However, the Super Eagles were shocked in the 56th minute of the game when Lesotho struck through Mkwanazi in the 56th minute of the game.
Moses Simon could have put the Super Eagles ahead in the game in the 64th minute, however his superb short hit the post and bounced off it.
The Super Eagles leveled up in the 67th minute when Semi Ajayi rose highest to head in a corner from Kelechi Iheanacho to put the ball in the net for Jose Peseiro's men.

1. Alex Iwobi
The Super Eagles midfielder had the best rating in the game against Lesotho. He was good in midfield and organized play for the host.
2. Semi Ajayi
He was on hand to help save Nigeria from a humiliating defeat at Uyo when he rose highest to score Nigeria's equalizer in the game. A good header for the defender.
3. Kelechi Iheanacho
Despite missing a sitter in the first half, the player assisted Semi Ajayi's equalizer. Also, he had a beautiful freekick saved in the first half as the Lesotho goalkeeper reacted to deny the Leicester City player.
Worse players
1. Bright Osayi
Had the lowest ranking in the game as he was not on guard to deliver for the eagles.
2. Francis Uzoho
He had same rating with Bright Osayi. Although he could do nothing about the Lesotho goal, it was clear that the player did not have a good game against Lesotho and once again conceded.
3. Ademola Lookman
Was substituted in the 59th minute of the game. Came second to the least in the game ranking, did not have the best game in a Super Eagles shirt.
