Injured Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne has insisted that Man United are still capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
The Belgian international made this known in an interview with TVPlay, where he reiterated that it will be an error to write off Man United from the title tace.
He also believed that Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Newcastle United could battle the Citizens for the title.
"It looks like this... There are five to six teams that are super close to each other.
"Tottenham started very well. Arsenal and Liverpool are there. We are doing the same again and then you have Aston Villa, Newcastle and Brighton who are doing well.
"And you should never write United off.
"It's going to be difficult, isn't it!"
Personal life
De Bruyne's mother is Belgian, born in Burundi and has also lived in the Ivory Coast. She grew up in London, after her Flemish parents moved to England for occupational circumstances. Only when she met Kevin's father Herwig, she returned to Belgium.
They settled in Drongen, a sub municipality of the city of Ghent, in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium.
As a child, De Bruyne and his parents regularly visited his grandparents in London. "We used to go every year at Christmas and during school holidays. It's my second home." De Bruyne said at the time of his Chelsea move in 2012.
Aside from his mother tongue Dutch, De Bruyne also speaks French, English, and German. Since 2014, De Bruyne has been in a relationship with Michèle Lacroix. The couple married in June 2017, and have three children together.
