A public affairs analyst, Chuks Akunna has said that former Governor Nyesom Wike failed in his attempt to remove his successor, Governor Sim Fubara from power but there will be further confrontations between them in the future.
Akunna made this statement during an interview with AIT while reacting to a video where Fubara and Wike met in church. In the video, Fubara described the political crisis in Rivers State as a thing of the past and further stated that Wike was still his boss.
In Akunna's words: "I have covered politics for close to 30 years. Politicians come, they hug themselves for photo ops and people take front page photographs but behind them, it is a cloak and dagger thing whether we like it or not. You will see more of that, I am not a prophet of doom but Wike failed in his bid to oust Fubara, but that is round 1. Because in a boxing match, you have round 1 up to round 12".
