Several Premier League clubs have been put on red alert after Real Madrid pulled the plug on their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe's saga with Real Madrid has dragged on for years now, with Los Blancos failing to secure the forward from when he was a 21-year-old.
With the Frenchman's contract with PSG set to expire in the next six months, Real Madrid were expected to make one final attempt to take up his services.
But reports from Spain indicate Los Blancos have lost interest in the forward and will look at 'younger' options to bolster their attack next summer, as per Cadena SAR.
The Spanish giants are also reported to be concerned about Mbappe's potential wage demands and past decisions.
Last week, Real Madrid released a statement rebuffing reports linking the 2018 World Cup winner to the club.
"Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG," the statement read.
Mbappe to the Premier League?
Real Madrid cooling down their interest in Mbappe has now opened the window for several Premier League clubs to sign the superstar.
Mbappe has already rejected a new contract offer from PSG and looks destined to leave the club.
As a result, four Premier League clubs - Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United could be tested to tempt the waters by luring the Frenchman to their club.
The 24-year-old reportedly wants an estimated £330,000 per week in wages, according to Four Four Two, and this sort of wage is well within the financial power of the giants of the Premier League.
