Arsenal FC have officially released a statement in support of Mikel Arteta's post-match comments after his side lost to Newcastle United at St James Park. Meanwhile, for some reason, other Premier League clubs should back Arsenal's statement.
Mikel Arteta expressed his dissatisfaction over how VAR judged the situations that led to Anthony Gordon's goal which separated both sides. The Spaniard branded the incident as "embarrassing". There were several talking points before the goal which shows why the goal shouldn't have stood.
Arsenal supports the comments delivered by Arteta by releasing a statement:
However other Premier League clubs should back Arsenal's statement because the standard of officiating this season has been plunging and it's only getting worse. It was a great statement from Arsenal because Clubs uniting to condemn Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) is the only way everyone can achieve any sort of improvement in refereeing.
Nevertheless, Arsenal becomes the second team after Liverpool to release a statement about the refereeing in the Premier League this season. Other clubs need to follow the same trend so that a change can be effected on time.
