Newly capped Nigeria international defender Jordan Torunarigha has given his opinion on Augsburg defender Felix Uduokhai switching nationality from Germany to Nigeria.
26-year-old Uduokhai was tracked by former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr few years ago, but just like Torunarigha back then he decided to pursue an international future with Germany by teaming up with their U23.
Torunarigha has since made a U-turn and already has one senior cap for Nigeria following his debut in the 3-2 friendly win over Mozambique last month. He is now hoping to be included in the sqaud for the World Cup qualifiers which begins in November, and possibly the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
Pressed on what his message will be to Uduokhai who hasn't made his senior debut for Germany despite enjoying regular run of games in the Bundesliga, the Gent defender said it's up to his former Germany youth international teammate to make up his mind.
"I cannot speak for them; they have to decide for themselves. I am not their parents. It has to be their decision with their parents or representative".
