The crisis brewing in Rivers State has taken another dimension amid moves to impeach the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
There were earlier reports that explosives were used to raze parts of the Rivers Assembly which has made matters worse. In a recent development, there are video clips circulating showing the moment the Governor and his entourage were being fired at by people said to be security agents.
In the videos, teargas were fired at Fubara and his men. His men could be seen shielding him amid shouts of "Wike should kill all of us", "They want to kill Rivers Governor," "We are Ijaw people, we no dey fear" among others shouts.
Fubara and his men eventually forced their way to the Rivers Assembly complex where the majority Leader and four other loyalists of his had been suspended earlier amid moves to impeach him.
