Chelsea's short unbeaten run in the English Premier League was ended by Brentford when both sides locked on at the Stamford Bridge Stadium yesterday. The Blues might have dominated the game in every aspect but they failed to convert their several goalscoring opportunities which was their greatest undoing against Brentford. Brentford sat deep and defended brilliantly in the encounter to make sure they sealed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Chelsea thanks to Ethan Pinnock's great header and an easy tap-in finish from Bryan Mbeumo.
Well, Nicolas Jackson was back in the starting lineup for Chelsea in this encounter but still couldn't put up a convincing performance against Brentford. The Senegalese International played the whole 90 minutes in this game and couldn't make a significant impact on Chelsea's performance offensively against Brentford. The 20-year-old was guilty of missing a couple of important chances for the Blues which could have helped them avoid this disappointing defeat to Brentford.
Well, I believe Nicolas Jackson's poor form at Chelsea shows he isn't the ideal striker for the team this season. Presently, Chelsea needs a very prolific striker who could help solve a great percentage of their goalscoring problems. Nicolas Jackson obviously can't be relied on since he struggles to convert clear-cut goalscoring chances as a centre-forward. The Senegalese International can't guarantee Chelsea a good number of goals this season which is very disappointing.
